The Panipat police have arrested the prime accused in the Panipat taxi driver murder case. The police also recovered the looted Brezza car from his possession.

KARNAL: The Panipat police have arrested the prime accused in the Panipat taxi driver murder case. The police also recovered the looted Brezza car from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Rakesh alias Rinku of Hatt village in Jind district.
However, three other accused, including Sachin of Rohtak, Ashok of Panipat, and Sonu of Kaithal district, involved in this case are still at large.

Inspector Virender Kumar, CIA-II incharge said that the accused Rakesh has confessed to the murder of Mohit Soni (24), a resident of Preet Vihar in Panipat city, and to looting his car.

He said that during the three days of remand, Rakesh revealed that his brother was lodged in jail in a case and he had needed money to fight the case in the case. So he along with other accused plotted a plan to loot a car to commit other loot incidents.
On October 14, the accused online booked Mohit's car to go to Jhajjar from Raslapur in Panipat. They shot him dead and dumped his body on Rohat-Fatehpur road in the Sonipat district. On October 15, police recovered Mohit's body from there.
Inspector Virender said that the accused has been sent to judicial custody and efforts are on to arrest the other accused
He said that a mobile shopkeeper who provided them a sim card used in the crime has already been arrested.
